Business Development
Job function
The Upward capital Business Development team is responsible for developing partnerships that accelerate Upward capital Business, developing and expanding revenue channels. You’ll be collaborating with your own teams and our partners to help Upward Capital Ventures and your team continue to exceed their goals.
Responsibilities (Will include, but not limited to)
- Source, structure, negotiate, and implement effective business development agreements that drive traffic, and revenue to Upward Capital Ventures businesses.
- Forecast and report business growth, drive new business opportunities.
- Evaluate the competitive landscape and create strategies to adapt to changing market trends.
Qualifications
MBA or other graduate degree a plus. 3+ years of proven experience in business development, with at least 2+ years of leading global or national business development teams.
Valuation Manager (Remote or Hybrid)
Job Function
We are looking for a Valuation Manager to join our finance team. The Valuation Manager will work closely with the Finance and Capital network teams as well as the external valuation service providers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams for preparation of portfolio company valuations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and the external valuation service providers on year-end audit requests and inquiries.
- Prepare valuation models to support legal reporting requirements.
- Support internal teams with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education experience.
- 2+ years of combined valuations consulting, advisory, public accounting, or related work experience at a PE/VC firm
- Understanding of partnership accounting and/or a plus
Marketing Associate (Remote or Hybrid)
Job Function
The Upward Ventures Marketing team is responsible for product and growth marketing initiatives, including lead generation, crafting content development for a wide variety of medias.
Responsibilities [ Will Include but are not limited to]
- Develop short- and long-form copy for a variety of medias including social media copy, blog posts, reports, advertisements, eBooks, email, etc.
- Support messaging and copy development for cross-functional go-to-market product launches and feature releases
- Identify industry trends and conduct market research.

Responsibilities
- You have an analytical mindset, enjoy research projects, and are technologically proficient.
- You understand common company financial metrics (e.g., revenue growth, operating income, retention rate, etc.)
- You can research unfamiliar metrics or concepts and contextualize them quickly
- Reviewing inbound pitch decks from startups and relevant performance metrics.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience supporting a team in reporting and cleaning data.
- Technically savvy, advanced proficiency in Excel

Brand Manager (Remote or Hybrid)
Job Function
You’ll be responsible for establishing Upward Capital Ventures portfolio companies in the market and laying the brand foundation for the long term.
Responsibilities
- Writing and producing portfolio news, founder resources and newsletters, copy for our website and specials event.
- Enriching our content offerings with a mix of formats of content including written, audio, and video.
- Managing social channels. Digital editorial management experience creating relevant content.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing marketing teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree a plus
- 2+ years’ experience with a proven track record of leading Brand Marketing.
- Strong knowledge of brand measurement frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong ability to come up with new brand positioning and ad ideas.
